Washington Domestic Partner Opponents Optimistic About Goal

Opponents of Washington State’s “all but marriage” bill have just a few days left to collect the 120-thousand signatures they need to put the bill on the ballot this fall, and say they are getting close to their goal. “Protect Marriage Washington” head Larry Stickney told OutQ News last week that he is “cautiously optimistic” that the group will get the signatures they need by Wednesday. He said as of two weeks ago, the group had more than 75-thousand, and last week’s haven’t been counted yet, but he thinks they’re closer to 100-thousand on the books.

Stickney also said there was going to be a huge push this past weekend in Churches and Wal-Marts across the state, and that thousands of petitions have been sent out but not yet returned.
