NYC Escort Speaks Out on ‘Craigslist’ Murder of News Anchor

As a New York teenager is set to be arraigned on charges he murdered a radio news anchor during sex – a former escort is speaking out about his own encounter with the victim – and what he thinks might have happened the night George Weber died.

In March, police found 47-year-old radio news anchor George Weber dead in his Brooklyn apartment – police say, the victim of a gay sex killing. 16-year-old John Katehis is scheduled to be arraigned this week on 2nd Degree Murder charges.

Police say the former ABC Radio News anchor found the 16-year-old through a personals ad on Craigslist. The March 20th hook-up, which police say involved rough sexual acts, turned deadly in the newsman’s apartment. NYPD officers found George Weber’s body in a pool of blood — his ankles bound together by duct tape and countless knife slashes to his body.

A former New York City escort named Geo, who claims he also met Weber through Craigslist – says Weber liked it rough, but that his fantasies typically didn’t go that far.

“A night with George would usually be getting home to his house, having a beer with him, watching UFC championship wrestling match, and that actually would arouse him and get him to the point where he wanted to be smothered.”

Geo said that he – and other escorts – worried that George’s fantasies might someday get out of hand.

“[In] speaking to another friend of mine who was another escort for George we came to the conclusion that if anything were to ever happen to George we knew that it would be because he had hired an escort that took that fantasy too far.”

Geo says he’s spoken with the Brooklyn DA, but he says he as not, so far, been asked to appear as a witness.

An attorney representing the 16-year-old Katehis told OutQ News that his client will plead “Not Guilty” in Brooklyn Supreme Court on Friday. Katehis is being tried as an adult.
